Job Opening – Family Law Paralegal

HANIS IRVINE PROTHERO, PLLC is seeking an experienced family law paralegal to join our firm.

Ideal legal professional will have 3-5 years experience in complex family law cases. Qualified candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as expert level skills with document and case management, Word, Excel and Outlook. Candidate must be knowledgeable with State and Local Court rules and procedures, know how to draft basic pleadings, have good phone presence and be comfortable speaking with opposing counsel and/or pro se opposing parties. Candidate must have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and varying tasks with a relatively high workload.

Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus.

Experience in King County required and Pierce County is a plus.

Mark Prothero appointed to the Washington State Forensic Investigation Council

Mark Prothero, Partner with the Kent, Washington law firm of Hanis Irvine Prothero, has been appointed by Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire to the Washington State Forensic Investigation Council (FIC). The Council is a 13-member Board that provides oversight of the State’s crime laboratories. Other members include the Chief of the Washington State Patrol, the Prosecuting Attorneys for Whatcom County and Kittitas County, the Walla Walla County Sheriff, the City of Connell Police Chief, the Kitsap County Coroner, and the Clark County Medical Examiner. Mark is the first criminal defense attorney to be appointed to the FIC.
